Boiling Yellow Corn in a Pressure Cooker

Ingredients:

  • Yellow corn (number of ears according to family size)
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • A quantity of butter
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • Water for boiling
  • Salt to taste

Preparation Method:

  1. Prepare the corn ears by cutting each ear into two or three pieces, or boil the corn as it is.
  2. Place the corn in a pot of water, then add the baking powder, sugar, and salt. Add the butter as it is.
  3. Close the pressure cooker tightly and let the corn boil for 45 minutes until cooked. Serve the boiled yellow corn for both kids and adults.

Boiling Yellow Corn in the Oven

Ingredients:

  • Three ears of yellow corn
  • 1 cube of butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper
  • 1 sweet green pepper
  • Boiling water

Preparation Method:

  1. Peel the corn ears well and remove the yellow threads. Cut each corn ear into two pieces, then boil them in boiling water with added salt for five minutes.
  2. Remove the corn from the water and drain it well. Slice the sweet pepper into long strips, using either sweet or hot red pepper as desired.
  3. Sauté the butter and pepper strips on the stove for 3 to 5 minutes. Brush the corn pieces with this mixture and place them in the oven until browned. When one side is browned, turn them to brown the other side. Sprinkle with ground black pepper and salt before serving.

Boiling Canned Yellow Corn

Ingredients:

  • Two cans of yellow corn
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 3 cups of water
  • Salt to taste

Preparation Method:

  1. Place the water in a pot and bring it to a boil. Then add the corn from the can and let it boil for ten minutes. Note: In restaurants and commercial shops, steaming is used instead of boiling, so we have the freedom to choose how to cook the corn.
  2. After boiling, drain the corn from the water, heat the butter in a pan, add the corn, and stir the mixture for five minutes. Sprinkle with salt or black pepper to taste.

This method involves boiling the corn ears without removing the outer husk, which is removed only when fully cooked, as many people do this to preserve the original taste of the corn.
